Top Ten Internet Marketing Books You Must Have

You’re an internet marketing guru, and you are looking for ideas that you can pass on to your followers that will blow their internet marketing business up to become even more successful than yours. Or maybe you are just the guy or gal who is poking this internet marketing thing with a long stick (much the same as you would a wasp’s nest) just to see if it is worth exploring or not. ‘The Dip’ written by Seth Godin is a short read with a very pointed message. It isn’t meant for the faint of heart, nor is it meant for the vast majority of the population, because it isn’t likely that they are going to ‘get it.’ The Dip: A Little Book That Teaches You When to Quit (and When to Stick) tells why it is absolutely vital to be the best in the world at something and then to become well known for it.

It is the first time that I have ever heard anyone say that doing your best is not good enough, not if you want to get through the Dip. Reading ‘The Dip’ will give you insight into the differences between people who are just out for a drive, or who are lottery winners, and those that are on a dead end vs. those that are going through a dip.

Seth also takes a bit of an unusual approach to the 80/20 rule and why it doesn’t necessarily apply in the normal way. How you apply it to your niche and your business within the niche is going to determine if you are going to be successful or not.

By far the most important principle that Godin is teaching (and what makes this one of the most valuable internet marketing books), is that you need to be the best in your world, (read your niche) at what you do. You can only get there by going through the Dip, and by being able to measure your incremental progress along the way.

As you hear so often, if you can’t measure it, then you can’t control it, or improve on it either.
