You’re In Sales Are You?

Really? You’re in sales and you have never heard of these? Every sales person has got to (absolutely has got to) use these tools to get to the top of the heap, the front of the line, or to the finishing line before the next contestant.  If you don’t have them, you had better shut it down until such time as you can get them. AND you need them ALL. Having one ultimate sales tool is of almost no value at all. It takes synergy, my friend. and there is very little synergy with a lone anything.

Didn’t Have Ultimate Sales Tools

Tim W. did not have all the ultimate sales tools when he first attended a promotional meeting for an MLM company. That didn’t bother Tim W.  After all he is a sharp cookie.  He joined and later that same evening, he decided to call up a few friends to tell them what a great opportunity he had. Poor Tim. He was rejected so quickly and harshly that he would have suffered bruising if not for the fact the calls were long distance.

Susan P. was conducting a meeting with important clients holding service orders. These orders would be large enough to cause Susan’s business to triple in size over just the next three months.  It soon became obvious that Susan did not have the ultimate sales tools. The clients regretfully shook her hand and placed their orders with her competitors. Are you seeing a trend here?

George L. worked quietly once he joined the XYZ company and completed his sales training while on staff. George went to the president of the company and personally asked him what he needed to do to become the top sales person with the company.  The president laughed and said “get yourself an ultimate sales tool kit.” George did just that and became employee of the month the following month. Within a year he was given a position as a vice president.

The Ultimate Sales Tool Kit is really just two vital tools that are indispensible to anyone in the sales arena. The first tool is DESIRE. Yes, that’s right desire. Without it we would all be a population of bobbleheads, lots of movement but no clear path to get to anywhere.  The second ultimate sales tool is ability.  This one might seem obvious but to so many people, it eludes them.  While you can sell a certain amount of product during your ‘ignorance on fire’ stage, sooner or later it will not work if you do not have ability.

Which Ultimate Sales Tool Is The Most Valuable?

If you are like most people you are going to say ability. I used to think that too, then I realized that all the ability in the world wouldn’t do much good without desire to use that ability. Humans tend to do things for reasons, so sooner or later there has got to be a desire that is providing the impetus for action. If you look at the reverse, you can see that as long as there is a desire, then sure enough results will follow. Ability can be farmed out or purchased just like any other skill. Desire cannot be purchased or manufactured.  You can see that in reality there is only one ultimate sales tool and that one tool is desire.

    I totally agree! Your Desire is like Fuel to your Engine and without Fuel we can’t get far!

    This is where developing the right Skill Sets come in handy and without the Skill Sets of a Professional in this industry, it’s an Uphill Battle!

I was just re-reading Think and Grow Rich this morning, in fact the chapter on desire. “Through some strange and powerful principle of “mental chemistry” which she has never divulged, Nature wraps up in the impulse of strong desire “‘that something” which recognizes no such word as impossible, and accepts no such reality as failure.”
